Terms & Conditions
All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions. By paying a deposit, the Hirer signifies full and unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.
1. Booking
- The person making the booking is considered the Hirer, and is responsible for the payment of the hire, and the actions of the passengers
- The booking is not secured until a $100 non-refundable deposit is received. If another person requests hiring the same vehicle(s) at the same time, the original Hirer will be given the first option to pay the deposit and therefore secure the booking, or cancel the booking.
2. Payment
- Details of our charges are on the Prices and Payments page.
- Full payment is required at least one week prior to the hire. The exception to this is if we have credit card details that can be used to pay for the hire, in which case we will charge the card after the hire.
- The Hirer will be liable for any legal and collection costs incurred for debt recovery if payment is not made in full.
3. Cancellation
- Cancellation of the booking after the deposit has been paid will result in the Hirer forfeiting the deposit.
- If the cancellation is 7 days or less prior to the hire, the Hirer is liable for the complete original cost of the hire. If the full payment has already been made, this will be forfeited. If the cancellation is more than 7 days prior to the hire and full payment has been made, the Hirer shall be refunded the payment less the deposit.
4. Time over-runs
- The Hirer agrees to pay for any time over-runs, which are charged in 15 minute blocks, if the hire extends past the initial requested time.
- We allow plenty of time between bookings if a vehicle is being used for more than one booking on a day. However, if the driver judges that the time over-run is continuing to such an extent that other commitments may be compromised, he/she may advise the client accordingly and leave at his/her discretion.
5. Behaviour
- The Hirer shall be responsible for the conduct of any passengers carried during the hire period. We reserve the right to terminate the hire for any unruly or abusive behaviour, and in this situation no refund would be given.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the vehicles.
- Consumption of food and drink inside the vehicle is at the discretion of the driver. Red wine and other foods/drinks that stain are not permitted, for obvious reasons.
- The Hirer is liable for the cost of repairs to the vehicle and/or equipment due to damage caused by the passengers or other guests during the hire.
6. The Vehicles
- Our vehicles are prestigious classic cars that are maintained to a very high standard. However, due to their age, it is possible (but unlikely) that a mechanical problem could prevent the requested car from completing the hire. If this occurs before a hire commences, we will inform the Hirer and endeavour to find a similar classic car to use instead. If this is not possible, we will refund any monies paid, including the deposit.
- If any mechanical problem occurs during the course of the hire, we will do our best to get you to your destination on time. This, however, may not be possible, despite our best intentions.
- If any mechanical problems occur, or any other unforeseen problems occur, that prevent the hire from being completed, our liability is limited to the cost of the hire. No further liability will be accepted, nor compensation paid or made, for any subsequent loss or disappointment.
- Only our blue Rolls-Royce has air conditioning fitted.
7. Safety
- Only the number of passengers the vehicle is registered for are able to be carried at one time.
- It is the responsibility of the passengers to wear seat belts where fitted. Seat belts are not fitted in the back seats (which is allowed by law due to the age of the vehicles).
- We do not supply child restraint facilities, but if these are supplied they can be fitted to the front seat.
- NZ law requires that children under the age of 5 must be properly restrained in an approved child restraint seat if a suitable anchoring system (i.e. adult seat belts) is available. If there are no child restraints or safety belts available, they must travel in the back seat.
- Children aged 5 to 7 years must use a child restraint if there is one available. Otherwise they must use a safety belt if one is available. If there are no child restraints or safety belts available, they must travel in the back seat.
- Children aged 8 to 14 years must use a safety belt if one is available. Otherwise they must travel in the back seat
8. Delays
- All attempts will be made to comply with the agreed time frames. However, we cannot accept responsibility for delays due to reasons beyond our control, such as Acts of God, traffic problems/incidences and those caused by passengers.
9. Damage to property
- Our cars are thoroughly groomed prior to hire, however, some areas of the vehicles can become dirty with use, especially the tyres and exhaust. We accept no liability for clothing marked or stained by road grime, oil or grease, from any part of the vehicle.
- It is the passenger's responsibility to insure their own personal effects for loss or damage.
